I haven’t updated the blog in almost two weeks, so today I decided to answer some questions that had been sitting in my ask box for God knows how long.

Q: After having previously been in an unsuccessful long distance relationship, do you think it’s something you could do again?

A: Probably not. It was very difficult planning around each other’s work and school schedules. I mean, perhaps I could, providing that there’d be a set ending date to the distance and that the time spent in an LDR would be less than a year.

Q: What is currently stressing you out?

A: So, I was sort of in trouble with the law. On Friday, a pre-warrant notice for me was sent to my parents’ house, so they call me freaking out. I tried to call the Denton County Justice of the Peace to figure out what it was for, but the office was closed all weekend, so I had been spending the last two days freaking out. I went in this morning, and it turns out it was over an unpaid ticket I received in May. I have the whole situation taken care of now, but it was still giving me mad anxiety.

Q: What are you looking forward to in 2017?

A: In 2017, I will finally be graduating college, then moving to either New York or Los Angeles and breaking into the entertainment industry. Also, I plan on seeing The Weeknd in May, and I’m very excited for that. He’s one of my all-time favorite artists.

Q: If you could be anyone for a day, whom would it be?

A: If I could trade places with anyone for a full day, I would choose to be Kanye West. Like him or not, the man is a multi-talented artist, mogul, and entrepreneur. I would love to walk a mile in the shoes of one of the art industry’s most influential.

Q: What is one weird habit of yours?

A: To be honest, I have a lot of weird habits, however, I’m not willing to disclose all of them. I will admit that I do still like to squirt Elmer’s Glue on my hands, then rub them together to peel it off.

Q: Do you believe in the concept of soul mates?

A: I do. I believe that God (or whatever higher power you believe in) has someone made just for you. I know that sounds cheesy, but I feel it explains why my past relationships have failed. I also believe that everyone comes into our lives for a reason.

Q:  Which fictional character do you most identify with?

A: I’ve been told by many people that I remind them of the titular character from Nathan For You, but I’ve also been told I remind them of Ilana from Broad City. Personally, I take either comparison as a compliment.

Q: Where do you like to go when you’re in need of inspiration?

A: Usually I’ll go to Uptown Dallas or Deep Ellum, sit in a coffee house, and I’ll just people-watch. Mainly, I’ll observe young professionals and how they behave, interact with each other, and carry themselves. It inspires me to work harder in school, get my degree, and network with potential post-grad employers.

Q: What is an immediate deal-breaker for a significant other?

A: Everyone is entitled to their preferences. Personally, I will not date someone who doesn’t keep an open mind, nor has any desire to better themselves as a person. I’m not really into the whole “Netflix and Chill” thing, so I can’t really date someone who doesn’t enjoy going out.

Q: Which country would you like to travel to?

A: Oh God, there are so many. I’ve been thinking a lot about China lately. My best friend’s parents went for two weeks this past summer, and they had a great time. I think the idea of being surrounded by a multitude of cultures, art, food and technology all while being forced to be cut off from social media is exciting.
